At Charlotte's Brightside, we understand that grief is a deeply personal journey. Whether your loss is recent or happened many years ago, we offer safe, compassionate and accessible support for individuals, families and communities affected by bereavement.

Our aim is to ensure that no one has to face grief alone. Through structured programmes, peer support, creative activities and remembrance events, we help people find understanding, connection, hope and healing.

The project provides ongoing opportunities for:

  • Community connection

  • Creative wellbeing activities

  • Peer support networks

  • Social engagement

The project is supported by Charcraft Studio Venue, providing welcoming and inclusive community spaces where people can come together, learn new skills and continue their healing journey.

Annual Service of Love and Remembrance

Charlotte's Brightside is honoured to partner with St James Church, New Brighton, to host our annual Service of Love and Remembrance.

This special event offers individuals and families the opportunity to come together, remember loved ones and celebrate the lives that continue to shape our hearts and memories.

Family Memory Event

Before the church service, families are invited to join us for a warm and welcoming remembrance gathering.

Together we:

  • Create personalised memory hearts

  • Share stories and treasured memories of loved ones

  • Take part in creative remembrance activities

  • Spend time with others who understand the experience of loss

This informal pre-service event provides a gentle and supportive space for reflection, connection and remembrance.

Service of Reflection and Hope

Following the family event, we attend the Service of Love and Remembrance at St James Church together.

During the service, attendees are invited to:

  • Reflect on the lives of loved ones

  • Listen to readings and messages of comfort

  • Light candles in memory of those they have lost

  • Share a collective moment of remembrance, hope and love

Whether your loss is recent or occurred many years ago, everyone is welcome to join us in remembering those who will always remain part of our lives.
